Shark week is always one of the biggest television events for fans of nature and wildlife. Since Discovery took over the long standing event there have been more and more famous faces, as well as bigger and stranger discoveries. This year viewers saw a species of shark that walked over the land for the first time ever, as well as plenty of that Great White action that we know and love. Whilst Shark Week is over for another year, that doesn’t mean you have to stop enjoying the underwater fun altogether. These games bring the spirit of Shark Week to your PC, gaming platform, or mobile, so that Shark Week can live on that little bit longer.
Sharkosaurus Rampage
Kicking things off with a game that is utterly ridiculous, Sharkosaurus Rampage tells the tale of what happens when you cross an enormous Great White Shark with a dinosaur. It turns out that the animal you create is pretty angry, pretty hungry and absolutely enormous. You start the first level by smashing and biting your way out of the enormous test tube you were born in and then rampaging through the high security lab, eating as many people as you can along the way. It’s a little scary, but mostly just silly. The music is a hilarious mixture of metal and techno, spurring you on, fuelling that anger as Sharkosaurus rages. That’s not to forget the sound effects, which for a relatively low budget game are pretty great. Smashing glass, crushing boxes and the unmistakable crunching of bones create the soundtrack to this totally mental game.
Undersea Dreamin’
If you enjoy playing games in the slots online category then Undersea Dreamin’ is going to fulfil all of those Shark Week wishes and slot neatly into your gaming preferences too. This game from LuckyLand Slots captures the peaceful atmosphere of the shallow ocean perfectly, letting you explore the creatures that surround coral reefs. The reels are bursting with ocean life, from the cute clownfish, to the downright terrifying anglerfish. You’ll spot manta rays, pufferfish, sea turtles and more as you click your way through this game. The background music is distinctly tropical with the sound of air bubbles floating their way to the surface. You don’t get interrupted by sharks all too often, but when you do you’ll be impressed with the stunning graphics. It’s clear that the artistic team had a riot creating the artwork for this game.
Big Shark
Sometimes you want a game that you can pick up and put down in a matter of minutes and for that, quick play, browser based games simply cannot be beaten, especially ones that are completely free to play. Big Shark is one such game where the aim is very simple, to grow your shark as big as you possibly can. You’ll need to eat lots of fish to grow larger and to do this you simply click the screen to move your shark up and stop the click to allow your shark to float down. If you manage to line up the shark directly with a fish that’s smaller, the shark will eat the fish and after a few meals will grow larger. However, beware of fish that are larger than your shark as they might just eat him. It’s a shark eat shark world out there and this simple and fun game makes full use of that idea. Expect to see all different kinds of fish too, for those who aren’t only in it for the shark. You’ll find pufferfish, goldfish and even whales as you scour the sea in search of your next unsuspecting meal.
