Visit Detroit Dog Rescue on Friday from 3–7 p.m. at the All Things Marketplace in Corktown to celebrate National Dog Day.

There will be rescue dogs available to meet, pet, adopt, and go home with wonderful families. Products from Detroit Dog Rescue will be available for purchase both on-site and online to support the local nonprofit, a no-kill dog shelter, and its projects to rescue, train, and rehome dogs.

There are many different backgrounds for the occasion in Michigan, from famous Dearborn dogs to emotional support puppies, and there are many ways to commemorate.

itWhat you need to know about National Dog Day is as follows:

National Dog Day’s past
Every year on August 26, National Dog Day is observed. Colleen Paige, a champion of the pet and family lifestyle, picked that day because it was when her family first brought their dog home when she was ten.

The festival’s purpose is to honor dogs, promote adoption, and increase awareness of the number of shelter dogs.

Since 2004, National Dog Day has grown and is now celebrated everywhere.

The Humane Society of the United States and West Coast Labrador Retriever Rescue are just two of the rescue groups phthalate teamed up with the event’s organizers to raise awareness for the problem. Together, they draw attention to the significant number of dogs who arneedomes and actively encourage anyone looking for a dog to visit adoption facilities rather than pet stores.
