According to his wife, Mexican actress, and singer Alessandra Rosaldo, actor Eugenio Derbez, who is well-known for his roles in movies like “CODA” and the remake of “Overboard,” was hurt in an accident of an undisclosed nature and will require a lengthy recovery.
The actor “is fine,” but his injuries will require surgery, and according to Rosaldo, Derbez’s husband since 2012, he faces a “long and difficult” recovery that will involve rehabilitation, in a statement posted in Spanish to Instagram.
Rosaldo withheld information about the accident.
Derbez most recently starred in the Hulu movie “The Valet” and is the lead in the upcoming second season of Apple TV+’s “Acapulco.”
“Thank you for always being close to us,” Rosaldo concluded her message. “I know that with the good energy that they will be sending us and with the favor of God, Eugenio will recover very soon.”
