Haaland has thus far started the Premier League season five games with the fastest start of any striker in league history.
Many anticipate that the $51 million player, who made his name as one of the most lethal strikers in world football at RB Salzburg and then Borussia Dortmund, will soar to new heights at the Etihad.
And based on Haaland’s statistics for August, that is starting to seem like a given.
The 22-year-old has surpassed the previous high for goals scored in August after the top-flight season got underway earlier than usual because of the World Cup this winter.
Haaland is filling the enormous shoes left by City legend Sergio Aguero, who also had an explosive debut at the Etihad.
The Argentine tied Newcastle legend Micky Quinn’s record with eight goals in his first five Premier League games after joining in 2011.
And now Haaland, who has nine in five games, has blitzed the two legendary strikers.
Aguero, who is currently the fourth-highest goal scorer in Premier League history, joined City at the age of 23.
The fact that Haaland has an advantage is quite frightening.
