In advance of his acting debut, former UFC champion Conor McGregor once more hinted on Thursday that he would be leaving mixed martial arts.
In 2016, McGregor won the lightweight championship, nearly a year after winning the featherwe
ight crown. He did this to become the UFC’s first dual-weight champion. Due to his quick ascent to the top of the mixed martial arts world, the Irishman is now ready to make his acting debut in a remake of the 1980s action movie Road House.
Jake Gyllenhaal will also play a significant role in the upcoming Amazon Prime film, and McGregor hinted on Thursday night that his acting debut would spell the end of his MMA career.
When McGregor last competed in July 2021, he lost to Dustin Poirier and damaged his leg.
If McGregor does indeed return to MMA after being knocked out by Poirier in January of last year, he is anticipated to return to the Octagon in January 2023 while still recovering from the injury.
