Derrick Lewis and Sergei Pavlovich’s heavyweight matchup, which was preceded by the two title fights that opened UFC 277, was ranked No. 5 and No. 11 respectively.

Pavlovich came into the fight riding a winning streak of three matches, all of which ended in finishes. Lewis, unsurprisingly, has the most knockouts in UFC history. Pavlovich achieved the speedy finish on Saturday.

Less than a minute passed throughout the fight. Pavlovich punched Lewis when he made an effort to close the gap and approach him. Lewis was wounded by a right hand. Lewis absorbed an uppercut and backed away. Pavlovich continued to throw blows while pursuing the opponent.

As Lewis was rising to his feet after falling on all fours, referee Dan Miragliotta stopped the fight. Lewis instantly objected to the halt, and the disappointed crowd booed him.

Pavlovich won his fourth straight match to extend his winning streak to four and is now set to enter the Top 5 heavyweight rankings.
