Tom Cairney’s Goal Earns Fulham Draw Against Tottenham

Tom Cairney, Fulham skipper, did a dramatic 20-minute cameo, helping his side to secure a point before he was shown a red card in a 1-1 draw against Tottenham.

The first half of the match played in Tottenham Hotspur Stadium ended without a goal, while Tottenham netted the first goal in the second half. Brennan Johnson converted a fine assist from Timo Werner into a goal, marking his sixth goal since the season started in the Premier League.

Fulham did not wait too long before making it a draw, with captain Cairney coming in as a substitute to net a first-time shot just five minutes later. 

Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno saved his team when he denied an attempt from Heung-min Son, and Fraser Forster did heroics against Raul Jimenez. Alex Iwobi was near scoring a goal before the end of the first half.

As the second half began, goalkeeper Forster saved his team from attempts by Issa Diop and Iwobi until Johnson finally helped his side to net a 

Cairney’s well-calculated shot leveled the game, but he did not stay much in the match as he was shown a red card for his attack on Dejan Kulusevski. 

Tottenham were unable to convert this advantage to emerge the winner in the closing stages, and Fulham did not surrender to their pressure.
