The Las Vegas Strip, which is home to some of the most renowned casinos and hotels in the world, was completely sunk by the recent Las Vegas Flooding on Thursday night.
As the city issued a flash flood and severe thunderstorm warning, heavy rain poured into innumerable buildings.
Twitter users posted videos of the streets of Sin City being inundated by floodwater. Other films showed water gushing into casinos and downtown streets turning into miniature rivers.
Tim Szymanski, a Las Vegas Fire information officer, verified that no injuries have been recorded as of yet in the Las Vegas flooding.
Other videos shared on social media showed floodwater saturating the carpet inside Circa Sportsbook.
The National Weather Service issued flash flood warnings and severe thunderstorm warnings for various areas of the valley, including North Las Vegas and downtown Las Vegas.
Just before 10 p.m. local time on Thursday, a wind gust of 59 mph was recorded at Harry Reid International Airport; however, as the storm passed through the city, the Las Vegas Strip recorded a gust of 71 mph.
From Thursday night’s monsoon storm, 0.32 inches of rain were officially measured at the airport. However, the NWS reports that some areas of Las Vegas received more than an inch of rain following the Las Vegas flooding
It was advised against driving across flooded roads by Las Vegas Fire & Rescue, which claimed it had responded to numerous storm-related calls.
