It was a dark weekend in Lagos as a result of the torrential rain that destroyed homes, damaged property, and claimed lives throughout the city.
As heaven continued to give up its content on Lagos over the previous few days, leaving the state significantly inundated and carrying away numerous inhabitants to their deaths, panic gripped residents and motorists.
Remember that the Lagos State Government forecasted high-intensity annual rainfall of 1,750 mm earlier in March 2022, with associated socioeconomic effects for inhabitants.
The state government, however, cautioned citizens not to become alarmed by the recent heavy rains because all necessary preparations had already been made to provide adequate protection of lives and property in the event of projected flash flooding throughout the state.
