Awards: Mahoro was nominated for a Joey Award for Best Ensemble In a Feature Film in 2018 for his performance in To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before.

Family: His only known family is his mom and his younger siblings.

Trezzo Mahoro was born in Rwanda, East Africa, in 1996. He moved to South Africa with his family at some point and later left for Canada.

His final year of high school at Templeton Secondary School saw him develop an interest in acting.

Mahoro made his acting debut in 2015, appearing in iZombie, One Crazy Cruise, Sorority Murder, Exposed, and a short video for The Walking Dead alongside Bernie Mac and Steven Yeun in Hollywood Unaired Pilot.

In 2016, he landed his first major role as Mohamad in the series, Van Helsing. In an interview with Cort Robinson for Pure Fandom, Trezzo Mahoro spoke about his role as Mohamad.

“It mirrors me. It does mirror my life in a sense. I wasn’t born in Canada. I was born in Rwanda and raised in South Africa. Mohamad is from a place of hardship.”

“The life wasn’t very easy. He was a street kid. That kind of helped me and drew me in when I read the script.”

“His transition into an apocalyptic world kind of reflected my transition coming from South Africa and what I know and what I’m used to and going to this entirely different life in Canada.” 

“I was back at square one. Mohamad has to figure out this new world and fight to live and eat.”

He also was cast in Adventures in Babysitting (2016), and The X-files (2016).

Trezzo Mahoro made his breakthrough in 2018 as Lucas in the romantic comedy To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before.

Following the film’s success, Mahoro made an appearance in To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You will be released in 2020 alongside Lana Condor. 

He also appeared in To All the Boys: Always and Forever in 2021. 

In 2021, he will appear in the film The Four Fathers and the television series Day of the Dead.

He currently lives in Vancouver, British Columbia.
