Reports have it that terrorists attacked and bombed the Abuja-Kaduna rail track and attacked a total of 970 passengers who boarded the train.
This is coming days after some bandits attacked the Kaduna state airport and killed one of the airport staff members.
The train was attacked between Rijana and Katari in Kaduna State on Monday which left many passengers injured while some have been accounted abducted as defense operatives were later sent to the scene.
The development was confirmed by the Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Cooperation, Mr. Fidet Okhiria, who stated that;
“information concerning the attack was still sketchy, and no concrete information could be given at the moment.”
“We have confirmed the attack, but we cannot give you much information right now.
“From the reports we have gotten, most of the passengers have gone into hiding and the officials on board are yet to give us a report of the situation.
”There are reports of gunshots and the train derailed due to the attack.”
A verified source added that the terrorist “planted IED. When it went off, it derailed the train. There was pandemonium every and some people may be kidnapped.”
