Reports have it that a smart bra that detects breast cancer has been developed in Nigeria by a Nigerian robotics engineer identified as Kemisola Bolarinwa.

It was stated that the small ultrasound sensors in the smart bra which was formulated by a wearable firm located in Abuja identified as “NextWear Technology’ scan the breasts and indicate the location of any tumor it detects.

During a recent interview, Kemi Bolarinwa disclosed that she decided to help in fighting this common disease (breast cancer) which is very rampant and has taken the lives of many women including her “beloved mother”.

The robotics doctor added that the smart be a will be worn on the breast for “30 minutes for the result to show” as she made it known that if people could detect cancer easily “then they will be safe, and many don’t have to die.”

In her full words, she said;

“My beloved mother died of breast cancer in 2017 at the University College Hospital in Ibadan, Nigeria because it was diagnosed late.

“In her ward, I saw women of different age groups, even teenagers, groaning under the pain of breast cancer. That was when I felt I needed to contribute my part to fight the disease.”

“The result will show if the tumour is benign (harmless) or malignant (harmful),

“The smart bra must be worn on the breasts for a maximum of 30 minutes for the result to show. The app also has an interface for the result to be transmitted to a doctor.

“If they could detect early that they have cancer, then they will be safe, and many don’t have to die,” she added.
