The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has arrested the immediate ex-governor of Anambra state, Willie Obiano at the Lagos State Airport.
Obiano was arrested hours after the successful swearing-in ceremony of the present governor of the Anambra state, Charles Soludo, which took place at the state government house where late Ojukwu’s widow, Bianca Ojukwu landed a slap on the ex-governor’s wife’s face.
Willie Obiano who was nabbed at about 08:30 pm at the Muritala Muhammad airport, on his way to Houston, Texas, has been on the watchlist of the EFCC since the 15th of November, 2021.
The spokesman to the EFCC identified as Wilson Uwujaren who confirmed the development disclose that Obiano was apprehended for allegedly mismanaging over N17billion naira Paris Club refund and security vote as he added that the ex-governor is still in their custody.
