Father of many children, Nick Cannon has apologized after mentioning his late child over arrival of his 8th child, saying he was very emotional.
The 41-year-old star, who lost his baby boy Zen shared with Alyssa Scott in December, mentioned the baby’s passing while announcing that he was expecting a new child with Bre Tiesi earlier in the week, his eighth overall.
The announcement ushered in a lot of conversation and criticism about the number of children Nick has already had, as well as the fact that he’d just lost a child.
Alyssa also put out a statement, saying it was “painful having my son be apart of conversations that aren’t in alignment with his light and legacy. It isn’t something I chose for him or myself.”
During Thursday’s episode (February 3) of The Nick Cannon Show, he apologized to Alyssa Scott.
“I wish to always protect and respect the privacy of the mothers of all of my children,” he said.
“I know I can do better when dealing with delicate and sensitive discussions. I promise you, I promise the mothers of my children, I promise my family that I will do better and continue to be more understanding, caring, compassionate, like they often show me each and every day.”
“I misspoke and probably went into too much detail on Monday expressing my feelings…it felt like I was probably making some comparatives discussing the passing of my son Zen, and then also talking about the new child I’m expecting.
I didn’t have to do that…those are two completely separate moments in life,” he continued to say.
