Garbed in a reflective snow leopard print attire dotted with silver sequins, Mary J. Blige delivered one of the most astonishing Super Bowl performances of all time last night.
Performing with her were legendary rappers: Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Eminem, and king of the new school, Kendrick Lamar.
Mary J. Blige performed two of her smash hits from her fifth studio album, Family Affair and No More Drama, produced by Dr. Dre.
Rapper and media mogul, Dr. Dre opened the show and was backed up by performances from Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick, and Eminem.
All the artists owe some parts of their success to Dr. Dre, a monumental figure in American Hip-hop history who performing has produced/promoted all the artists individually, at some point in their careers.
Sunday’s hip-hop-themed Super Bowl halftime show was the event’s oldest ever – with its veteran performers having a combined age of 286.
Nonetheless, it was an incredible performance with all the right music, the perfect stages, powerful and coordinated dancing/dancers, and synchronization that felt natural like only the stuff of legends can.
CBS reports that this year’s show was one of the most anticipated Super Bowl performances of late.
Eminem has 15 Grammys and Snoop Dogg has been nominated for a Grammy 17 times but has never won. Kendrick Lamar has taken home 13 Grammys, Mary J. Bilge has nine awards from 31 nominations and Dr. Dre has seven Grammys for a total of 44 between the group.

The Super Bowl performance saw Dre and Snoop open with their songs, The Next Episode & California Love; 50 Cent hung from the roof and performed his hit single, In Da Club.
Mary J. Blige rocked the stage with her glitter and glamour, performing the songs, Family Affair and No More Drama.
Kendrick followed up this performance with his usual unusually electrifying performance. He performed M.A.A.D City and Alright.
