The United States Government has pushed for more restrictions on North Korea after they launched six banned missiles.
Pyongyang has tested more ballistics missiles, defiling the United Nations missile ban resolutions. North Korea has also stated that they were creating hypersonic weaponry.
US ambassador to the United Nations, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, proposed tighter restrictions with a post on Twitter, saying:
“The US is proposing UN sanctions following North Korea’s six ballistic missile launches since September 2021, each of which was in violation of UN Security Council resolutions.”
She continued in another tweet:
“Today’s designations convey our serious concern about North Korea’s continued ballistic missile launches and proliferation activities. We urge all @UN Member States to fully implement their obligations under UNSC resolutions.”
