The Northern Elders Forum (NEF) has cautioned Nigerians About voting leaders like Buhari into power in the incoming 2023 election.
It was reported that the group addressed the issue through one of its committee member identified as Hakeem Baba Ahmed who dished out the warning at a meeting held at Arewa House Kaduna on Saturday (Jan 15, 2021).
Hakeem stated that no northerners should sell his or her voters else they would suffer if someone like the president is voted into power as he also urged them to make sure they are properly registered to be able to partake in the voting process.
In his words, he said;
“We say turn your anger into an asset by voting in better people into office this time. There are politicians that will continue where the present administration stopped, and, while angry citizens refuse to vote, they will buy votes and get power.”
”So, the most important thing a Northerner will do for himself and the community is to register and vote in 2023. Do not exchange your votes for another four or eight years in a country where your dignity and your life have little value.”
