A new strain of the Covid-19 variance called IHU has been discovered in the southern city of France, near Marseilles.

As at the time of its discovery, the IHU variant of Covid-19 had infected 12 people and had 46 mutations.

People infected with the IHU virus have a travel history to Cameroun, a West African country.

The IHU virus carries the E484K and N501Y mutations which can make it more infectious while having a higher resistance to vaccines.
