julian assange faces transfer from uk to us reasons agreement

Founder of Wikileaks, Julian Assange, faces being extradited to the United States after the US government won an appeal in a UK High Court to overturn the previous judgment.

The UK Court initially refused the extradition request from the US on Julian Assange’s mental health.

However, the UK Secretary of State will have the final say on whether Assange will be sent over to US or not.

Julian Assange, the founder of Wikileaks is been wanted in the United States to stand trial on an 18 counts charge bordering on obtaining and disclosing confidential defense and national security material.

He leaked top sensitive diplomatic and military materials and published them on his website, in collaboration with a former US soldier named Bradley.

Part of the deal the US agreed to, to pave way for his extradition was to allow Julian Assange, if he wants, to serve his sentence in Australia if convicted, and also have access to “appropriate clinical and psychological treatment as recommended by a qualified treating clinician at the prison where he is held”.
