The Canadian government has restricted Nigerians from entering its country after confirmed Omicron cases.
Omicron is a new variant of the virus that causes COVID-19 which has been confirmed in some African countries like Malawi, South Africa, Eswatini, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Lesotho, and Namibia.
Due to fear of affecting its citizens and to curb the widespread of the virus, Canada placed a ban on citizens of the listed country which also includes Nigeria.
Canadian health minister, Jean-Yves Duclos stated that foreigners who visited the African countries in the last 14 days would not be permitted to come into the country.
