In case you’ve never heard, there is a referee that loves to display funny dance moves right on the football pitch, and his name is Alexander Cofie, also known as referee Somo, from Ghana.
Alexander Cofie grabbed public attention after videos of him dancing on the football field to entertain people went viral.
He said he started dancing in order to calm tensions down and reduce incidences of fights because many football fans, as well as other people, always bet money on the local matches, which results in violence in the stadium many times.
However, he disclosed that he was not a professional referee, but only pick up local ref duties for local matches where he is been called, but he desires to become a licensed referee one day.
Sadly, as fate would have it, the funny and now known Ghanian dancing referee, Alexander Cofie, aka referee Somo, currently works as a local barber, due to lack of opportunities.
