Lionel Messi finally got off the mark for PSG in a 2-0 win against Manchester City in the Uefa Champions League.
Idrissa Gueye opened the scoring for the hosts in Paris in the 8th minute before Messi wrapped up the win with a sublime goal.
Messi revealed that he was getting desperate to score his first goal for PSG
“The most important thing was to win the game against a great side, one of the favourites,” Messi told broadcaster Canal Plus.
“It’s true that I was getting desperate to score my first goal. I hadn’t played much recently and I had only played once here at home but I am settling into the team little by little.”
Messi will be hoping to open his Ligue 1 account against Rennes on Sunday.
