Guarantee Trust Bank, popularly known as GT Bank or GTB, has undergone major structural changes and is now a Holding Company, and as a result, its new name is Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc or GTCO.
The new changes were announced by the Group Chief Executive Officer, Segun Agbaje, who said the new Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc, or GTCO, will provide better value for its stakeholders after its shares were listed at the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) Limited.
Guarantee Trust Bank aka GT Bank or GTB has since started changing its name and logo on its branches nationwide to the new GTCO (Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc).
Is Guarantee Trust Bank Still GT Bank, GTCO, Or GTConnect?
The popular retail bank also left their customers confused and in the dark after its restructuring to a Holding Company and subsequent change of name to Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc or GTCO.
Adding to the confusion is that they also run a Contact Center named GTConnect- an interactive and automated self-service center that we believe is geared towards the bank for the future.
The defunct Guarantee Trust Bank has since started changing the names and logo on the bank’s buildings to the new GTCO.
So, here you have it, GTCO is the new Guarantee Trust Bank or GT Bank, while GTConnect is a 24/7 automated contact center where the bank’s customers can do about 90% of their banking transactions.
