The Northern Elders Forum (NEF) has rejected the resolution from the meeting of the Southern Governor’s Forum, that the next President of Nigeria, come 2023, should come from the South.
The Northern Elders Forum said they will not just allow the Nigerian presidency to move to the South because it goes against the idles of democracy. According to the Director of Publicity and Advocacy, Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, the decision on who occupies the position of the President should be determined solely by the voters, and they cannot be intimidated or blackmailed into accepting otherwise.
