The governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has imposed a 24hr curfew in the state after #endsars protests turned violent. The peaceful protest turned violent after it was hijacked by thugs which are now confirmed to be sponsored by the state. The violence saw the loss of lives and properties.
Dear Lagosians,
I have watched with shock how what began as a peaceful #EndSARS protest has degenerated into a monster that is threatening the well-being of our society. Lives and limbs have been lost as criminals and miscreants are now hiding under the umbrella

The curfew was initially slated to start by 4pm but was later postponed till 9pm. Perhaps the governor realized that people might not be able to make it home before 4pm, given the level of traffic lockdown as a result of roadblocks caused by the protesters
About a dozen protesters were also killed in the Mushin area of the state, a police station was razed down at Orile and a policeman was reportedly mobbed to death by the angry protesters.
