Galatasaray gave a hard fight to earn a 1-1 draw on Wednesday in the Champions League against Atletico Madrid, through an own goal from Marcos Llorente that ruled out an early goal scored by Giuliano Simeone.

Atletico Madrid recorded an early goal as the hit came in in the fourth minute after Alexander Sorloth passed through the midfield and made a precise pass to Matteo Ruggeri.

The Italian went down the left and gave an accurate cross to the far post, where Giuliano Simeone fired a header from a short distance into Galatasaray’s net.

Galatasaray came back with pressure, and their effort was rewarded in the 21st minute after the referee made the starting blow.

Leroy Sane made his way through the defense of Atletico before he released Roland Sallai, who made the low cross that caused the chaos in the six-yard box.

In an attempt to clear the ball away from Atletico Madrid’s six-yard box, Llorente mistakenly kicked the ball into his own net.

The draw leaves Atletico Madrid with 13 points at the eighth place on the table as they hustle to make direct qualification for the last 16, while Galatasaray has only 10 points and sits 16th on the table and remains in the playoff game.
