Bournemouth crashed Liverpool’s 13-game unbeaten streak with a surprising 3-2 victory on Saturday. A late goal in the 95th minute sealed the win for the Cherries.
Bournemouth had an early domination as Evanilson converted an error from the Merseyside into a goal, and not too long after, Alex Jimenez doubled the lead, making a tough game for the Reds.
Liverpool’s defense did not help, as they struggled to keep fit and also lost Joe Gomez to injury.
Liverpool did not give up despite having a poor start, as they fought back to level the game before 90 minutes of the match. Virgil van Dijk headed a corner into Bournemouth’s net, and the Reds’ second goal came from Dominik Szoboszlai to make it 2-2.
The game’s possession went in favor of Liverpool, but they could not make enough effort to tear down AFC Bournemouth.
Amine Adli fired into the visitors’ net to give Bournemouth their only second victory in 15 games with the last kick of the match.
The defeat increases pressure on Liverpool manager Arne Slot, as the team is now winless in five league games.
