Wolves continue their struggle in the Premier League after losing 3-1 at Molineux against Leeds United, making it five straight defeats.
Wolves remain on zero points after playing 5 games since the season started; they are the only team that has neither recorded a win nor a draw. The team started well on their own pitch when Ladislav Krejci found the net just seven minutes after the starting whistle, which lifted the team’s spirits for a few minutes.
Not too long after the host’s goal, Leeds responded with a commanding three goals.
Leeds United equalized at 31 minutes through Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who scored with a header from a fine cross, before Anton Stach’s beautifully curled free kick gave the team a lead in the 38th minute.
The first half did not end without Noah Okafor netting for Leeds United, after converting a quick counterattack to give his side a stable lead.
In an attempt not to lose all three points, Wolves pushed harder in the second half with Tolu Arokodare, Emmanuel Agbadou, and Jørgen Strand Larsen creating chances, but their efforts were not enough. Karl Darlow, Leeds’ goalkeeper, saved the day for his team with multiple saves.
This defeat marks Wolves’ worst-ever start in the Premier League, losing all five first matches of a new season.
