<p>Temporary rental car return areas have been affirmed due to the fire that destroyed at least 50 vehicles that occurred at the hourly garage of <a href="https://igettalk.com/2025/04/veteran-sports-broadcaster-mike-patrick-passes-away-at-80.html" target="_blank" data-type="post" data-id="108844" rel="noreferrer noopener">Jacksonville International Airport.</a></p>



<p>Part of those things that were affected by the fire include flight delays and traffic disruptions on Friday afternoon.</p>



<p>Travellers who will be returning rental cars from Alamo, National, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Hertz, and Thrifty will now have to go to the quick turnaround areas situated on Rental Car Road.</p>



<p>Enterprise customers have been mandated to return their vehicles on Staggerwing Road, while Sixt customers will have to go to the Aviation Authority administration office located at 14201 Pecan Park Road.</p>

<p>Signage will be installed by the airport to guide customers and travellers to the right locations for return. While <a href="https://www.news4jax.com/news/local/2025/05/16/jacksonville-aviation-authority-confirms-structural-damage-after-multiple-cars-catch-fire-in-jax-hourly-garage/" target="_blank" data-type="link" data-id="https://www.news4jax.com/news/local/2025/05/16/jacksonville-aviation-authority-confirms-structural-damage-after-multiple-cars-catch-fire-in-jax-hourly-garage/" rel="noreferrer noopener nofollow">charges on hourly and daily parking at the garages will be closed</a> until further notice, as investigation and cleanup have commenced.</p>



<p>Advice has been issued to passengers to allow for extra time when they arrive at the airport because of the temporary charges imposed and ongoing traffic delays.</p>
