Wide receiver Tank Dell from the Houston Texans was taken off the pitch after he suffered a significant knee injury in their 27-19 defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday, as mentioned by head coach DeMeco Ryans.

The wide receiver caught a 30-yard touchdown pass before he sustained the injury, was carted away to the University of Kansas Hospital for a check-up, and will be there all night.

A source who is familiar with the injury mentioned that Dell dislocated his kneecap, although the full details about the injury are yet to be revealed. The injury happened after his teammate Jared Wayne mistakenly hit Dell’s lower leg in the end zone.

Dell was surrounded by players as he was placed in an air cast and taken away from the field while some players were visibly emotional.

Dell had had enough time playing good games for the team and helping them with a touchdown on seven catches and 98 yards. The Texans offense could not manage it well after Dell was substituted due to the injury while they were able to score only three points on three possessions.

The injury for Dell was another setback as his rookie season ended soon enough because of a broken leg.

The Texans are scheduled to play with the Baltimore Ravens on the 25th of December.
