Maghnes Akliouche emerged as the star for AS Monaco after he helped the team score a double against Brest at home in their 3-2 game, making it his second time scoring a double in Ligue 1.

The victory added to Monaco’s dominance against Brest in their six consecutive games.

Monaco was able to capitalize on Brest’s sluggishness as the team struggled in the early time of the match. Akliouche scored the first goal in the match in the fifth minute through a calculated counterattack made by Eliesse Ben Seghir.

He was almost going to score the second goal moments later, but the ball hit the past with a one-on-one opportunity against Marco Bizot.

The team scored their second goal of the match in the 24th minute after Aleksandr Golovin converted on a loose pass from Brest, firing a shot in the upright for the first goal that he will score since February.

Brest’s substitute Kamory Doumbia made an assist that helped the team secure a goal in the second half through Abdallah Sima’s header in the 50th minute. Brest did not give up as they continued to search for an equalizer VAR ruling out their penalty. Akliouche ended up sealing the victory with a brilliant late strike against Bizot.

Ludovic Ajorque scored another goal to add to Brest’s injury, leading to their third consecutive loss in the season.

Monaco still maintains their second position on the Ligue 1 standings, coming behind PSG with three points.
