The 76th Emmy Awards, held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles this past Sunday, celebrated a lot of winners in television.
The drama series “Shōgun” was the highlight of the night, winning a total of 18 awards, including Best Drama Series. Hiroyuki Sanada won the award for Best Lead Actor in a Drama Series, while Anna Sawai took home the award for Best Lead Actress in the same category.
Additionally, the limited series “Baby Reindeer” received its own recognition, securing several awards, including Best Limited Series. Richard Gadd, the creator and star of the series, was honored with the award for Best Lead Actor in a Limited Series.
In the comedy category, “Hacks” won the Best Comedy Series award. Jean Smart won the Best Lead Actress in a Comedy Series and delivered a hilarious speech while accepting the honor. “The Bear,” which had the most nominations for a comedy series, also had a successful night, with Jeremy Allen White winning Best Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. Making history at the 76th Emmy Awards, Liza Colon-Zayas became the first Latina to win Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in “The Bear.”
