Ford has reintroduced the iconic Capri name for a new mid-size electric SUV featuring a coupe-like roofline.
This Polestar 2 competitor expands Ford’s lineup alongside the VW ID4-based Explorer.
Sharing the VW MEB platform with models like the Skoda Enyaq Coupe and VW ID5, the Capri boasts distinctive exterior styling distinct from the boxier Explorer.
Inside, both models share a familiar cockpit layout highlighted by a central 14.6-inch touchscreen powered by Ford’s latest Sync software.
Starting at £42,075, the Capri offers a ‘Standard Range’ variant with a 55kWh battery and 170PS motor.
For £48,075, the Extended Range RWD model features a 77kWh battery, offering a range of 389 miles and powered by a 286PS motor.
Additionally, an Extended Range AWD version provides 340PS with a 79kWh battery, delivering a range of 346 miles.
Ford offers two trim levels: Select and Premium. The Select trim includes adaptive cruise control, keyless entry, parking sensors, a reversing camera, heated front seats, and dual-zone climate control.
The Premium trim adds 20-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, matrix LED headlights, and a powered tailgate.
The Capri boasts generous interior space with a 572-litre boot capacity and a large 17-litre storage bin under the centre armrest.
Available to order now in Extended Range configuration, the Ford Capri has an approximate lead time of 16 weeks. The Standard Range model will be available later in the year.
