Students’ protest at the University of Mississippi took a wild racist turn when some teens started mimicking a monkey at a black woman – dancing and making monkey sounds at her.

The Phi Delta Theta General Headquarters in a statement said they were aware of the video and distanced themselves from the actions of the students.

“The racist actions in the video were those of an individual and are antithetical to the values of Phi Delta”, it said, adding that the three students have been removed from its membership.

The Oxford, Miss., campus has a mix of both Palestine and Israeli supporters. However, the anti-Palestine protesters outnumber the other side by about 10 to 1.

While the pro-Palestine supporters called for the U.S. to stop funding Israel’s war on Gaza, the counter-group sang the national anthem and shouted chants at them, such as “F–k Joe Biden,” “Who’s your daddy?,” “Take a shower” and “Shave your legs”, while law enforcement stood guard.

Ole Miss senior Lauren Flood who came to observe the demonstration said she was shocked by what she heard. “I didn’t speak to these boys, but they were talking about following some of the protesters and wanting to harm them,” she said. “I’m still shaken a little at how violent some of the comments were. There was a sexual-assault comment by one of them directed toward the women in the protest with head coverings.”

“I understand having opposing opinions”, Lauren, a pro-Palestinian supporter continued, “but anyone who can come and chant the school chant in the face of women and children being killed and starved and seeing hospitals being bombed—it’s very disheartening and eerie”.
