Taylor Swift has ushered in the era of Tortured Poets Department with much anticipation!

In a thrilling revelation on April 18, the Grammy-winning sensation disclosed that her upcoming album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” will feature “Fortnight” as its debut single, featuring none other than Post Malone.

“I’ve been such a huge fan of Post because of the writer he is, his musical experimentation and those melodies he creates that just stick in your head forever,” Swift wrote on Instagram. “I got to witness that magic come to life firsthand when we worked together on Fortnight.”

Adding to the excitement, Swift, aged 34, revealed plans for a music video accompanying the track, scheduled for release at 8 p.m. ET on Friday, April 19, coinciding with the album’s much-awaited launch.

“Honestly can’t wait for you guys to hear this song at Midnight TONIGHT and see the video at 8pm ET TOMORROW,” she wrote, alongside a black and white photo of her and Malone.

“Fortnight” is the first track on Tortured Poets, and only one of two songs to feature another artist; the song “Florida!!!” features Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine.

The album’s announcement traces back to February, when Swift introduced the project during her Grammy Awards acceptance speech for Best Pop Vocal Album.

With hints dropped along the way, Swift teased a predominant theme of heartbreak in the album, showcased through exclusive playlists shared on Apple Music and subtle lyrical clues.

On April 8, amidst the eclipse sweeping North America, Swift shared a poignant line, “Crowd goes wild at her fingertips/Half moonshine, full eclipse.”

Further building anticipation, Spotify organized a captivating pop-up exhibit in Los Angeles on April 16, offering Swifties a glimpse into a library-themed room adorned with cryptic hints and imagery reflecting the album’s potential content.

Collaborating closely with her trusted partners Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner, Swift unveils a rich tapestry of songs, with Post Malone credited as a co-writer on “Fortnight.”

As the clock strikes midnight on April 19, fans worldwide will finally immerse themselves in the haunting melodies of “The Tortured Poets Department.”
