They insinuated that the proposed reforms prioritize cost reduction over supporting disabled persons.

During his address, Mr. Sunak highlighted the concerning proportion of younger potential employees among the record-high 2.8 million unemployed individuals as of February 2024.
Mr. Sunak also outlined that, should the Conservatives prevail in the general election, individuals still jobless after 12 months despite support from a work coach will face complete removal of their benefits.
He refuted allegations of lacking empathy in his plans, asserting the presence of a “safety net” for “those genuinely in need”.
