Warner Bros. unveiled the trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s latest suspense thriller, “Trap,” starring Josh Hartnett, Ariel Donoghue, and Saleka Shyamalan, on Thursday. Set in the backdrop of a pop star’s concert, the upcoming film casts Hartnett as a chilling serial killer.

“Trap” delves into the unsettling tale of a father and his teenage daughter thrust into the midst of a dark and ominous occurrence while attending a pop concert. The logline offers a glimpse into the sinister events that unfold as the duo grapples with their harrowing situation.

Earlier this month, Warner Bros. offered audiences a sneak peek at the movie during CinemaCon before dropping the trailer on social media.

The trailer unfolds with Hartnett’s character, accompanied by his daughter Jody (Donoghue), enjoying the concert headlined by pop sensation Lady Raven, portrayed by Saleka Shyamalan. However, their night takes a chilling turn when Hartnett stumbles upon federal agents searching for a notorious serial killer dubbed “The Butcher.” As the tension mounts, Hartnett’s character is revealed to be the elusive killer, thrusting himself and his captive into a perilous bid for escape within the confines of the concert venue.

In tandem with the trailer release, Warner Bros. also unveiled the song “Release” by Saleka as Lady Raven, accessible at www.ladyravenmusic.com.

“Trap” marks Shyamalan’s first theatrical release under Warner Bros. since his transition from Universal, announced in August 2023. Reflecting on the move, Shyamalan expressed his commitment to creative freedom and the theatrical experience, citing Warner Bros.’ dedication to filmmakers and the cinematic medium.

Scheduled for release on August 9th, “Trap” promises to deliver a gripping cinematic experience that will leave audiences on the edge of their seats.
