Kim Kardashian is solidifying her pivot to producing, scoring another major TV sale as Netflix wins a competitive battle to land “Calabasas,” a juicy teen drama series the reality mogul will executive produce.

According to Deadline, multiple deep-pocketed streamers pursued the soapy project, based on the book “If You Lived Here You’d Be Famous By Now” by Via Bleidner. But it was Netflix that landed the winning bid by week’s end, continuing Kardashian’s productive partnership with the streamer.

“Calabasas” hails from an impressive creative team. It will be written by “Pretty Little Liars” mastermind I. Marlene King, who is also attached as showrunner. Emma Roberts, who recently starred alongside Kardashian in “American Horror Story,” is on board as an executive producer through her Belletrist Productions banner.

The juicy premise features shades of classic teen hits like “Beverly Hills, 90210” and “The O.C.” It follows a 16-year-old Midwestern girl who transfers to the glamorously unhinged world of Calabasas High after her family relocates to the affluent Los Angeles enclave. Culture clashes, ambition, and “unforeseen consequences” ensue as she navigates this new fast-paced social arena.

Of course, Kardashian herself is intimately acquainted with Calabasas, the wealthy city her famous family calls home. Her involvement undoubtedly elevated the prospect during heated bidding sessions across Hollywood.

“Calabasas” continues the TV icon’s rapid expansion into scripted content in the post-strike landscape. She recently set up the films “Fifth Wheel” at Netflix and an untitled thriller at Amazon, plus a legal drama series for Hulu developed alongside “AHS” creator Ryan Murphy.
