Michael Page was impressive in his Octagon Debut against Kevin Holland as a part of the UFC 299 main card at Kaseya Center in Miami, Page (22-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC).
Page landed a leg kick, followed by a blitz to start Round 1. Page started taunting Holland, who fired back with a leg kick. Holland clinched, but Page broke free.
After 19 fights under the Bellator banner, Page successfully made his highly-anticipated UFC debut.
Kevin Holland (25-11 MMA) entered tonight’s contest looking to rebound after suffering a split decision loss to Jack Della Maddalena in his most recent bout last September.
The second round was much different, with Holland able to secure a takedown and put in some work on the ground; however, Page defended a choke well and was able to end the round upright. He also hit a knockdown.
By the middle of the third round, Holland looked mentally defeated. Minutes later, the defeat was official.
“I’ve got a little more work to do. A lot more work to do,” Page said of his performance. “But this is where I’m supposed to be. Anyone who doubled this is where I’m supposed to be, see for yourself.”
The judges voted 29-28 giving Kevin Holland one round, but gave Page the winning decision.
