Ariana Grande recently took to social media to address her fans with a heartfelt plea. Following the release of her latest album, ‘Eternal Sunshine,’ Grande has observed a surge of ‘hateful messages’ directed at certain individuals in her personal life.

In a candid Instagram Story, the singer implored her followers to refrain from such behavior, emphasizing that it contradicts the support she seeks from her fanbase. She wrote:

“Hi, I just wanted to say anyone that is sending hateful messages to the people in my life based on your interpretation of this album is not supporting me and is absolutely doing the polar opposite of what I would ever encourage (and is also entirely misinterpreting the intention behind the music).”

The artist’s request for empathy and understanding comes at a time when her album has laid bare many personal and painful moments through its lyrics.

‘Eternal Sunshine’ is a deeply introspective work that explores the nuances of Ariana Grande’s relationships and personal growth, particularly spotlighting her separation from Dalton Gomez and the beginnings of a new relationship with her ‘Wicked’ co-star, Ethan Slater.

The candid nature of Grande’s lyrics seems to suggest that her ex-husband, Dalton Gomez, may have been unfaithful. Fans are especially focused on the second track, bye, where the pop singer says,

“I don’t care what people say / We both know I couldn’t change you … I’ve never seen someone lie like you do … So now we play our separate scenes / Now, now she’s in my bed, mm-mm, layin’ on your chest. Hope you feel all right when you’re in her.”

Even the lyrics on her “don’t wanna break up again” song, suggested that he was insensitive to her.

“I fall asleep cryin’ / You turn up the TV / You don’t wanna hear me.”

All of this prompted Ariana Grande to remind her audience of the album’s core message of ‘deep, sincere love’.
