Real Madrid has reportedly reached an agreement with Bayern Munich over Alphonso Davies, after an agreement with Mbappe.
Real’s chief scout Juni Calafat and director general Jose Angel Sanchez have both been in contact with Davies and his representatives.
According to The Athletic, also citing anonymous sources, Davies’ camp and Real Madrid have reached a verbal agreement for the player to join them in 2024/2025.
With the Canadian out of contract in 2025, he would usually be worth far more if he was tied.
But Bayern Munich will accept a cut fee of $54 million (€50 million) from Los Blancos to avoid losing the 23-year-old for nothing 12 months down the line.
Barcelona, as well as a few clubs in England, have been monitoring Davies but they will be disappointed.
MARCA explains that Madrid has held an interest in Davies “for more than a year”, with the player telling his agent he would like to join the Spanish giants.
By heading to Spain, Davies would appear to be Madrid’s second big signing of the summer after Kylian Mbappe.
According to Marca, Mbappe has already penned a five-year contract with 14-time Champions League winners Madrid.
