Chris Gauthier was born in England, but moved to Canada as a child. He started his acting career in the late 1990s, appearing in various films and TV shows.

He was best known for his roles as Smee in Once Upon a Time, Vincent in Eureka, and Ronald Reznick in Supernatural. He also had memorable parts in Watchmen, Freddy vs. Jason, 40 Days and 40 Nights, and A Series of Unfortunate Events.

The late actor was praised for his ability to play diverse and quirky characters, often with a touch of humor and heart. He was also described by his colleagues and co-stars as a kind, sweet, and generous person, who always brought joy and laughter to the set.
