YouTube sensation Logan Paul defeated MMA fighter Dillon Danis by disqualification in Saturday’s Influencer bout at the AO Arena in Manchester, England.
The build-up to the fight has been worrisome, with both influencers physically confronting each other on a few occasions.
Danis spent most of the six-round bout defending, while Logan threw more of the punches. He also attempted to take Paul down, which resulted in a violent confrontation that had security piling up in the ring.
“He’s supposed to be good at jiu-jitsu, what happened?” Paul said afterward, according to broadcaster DAZN.
“He tried to do a takedown, he tried to do a guillotine. I’m sorry I missed that hammer fist. I’m sorry it ended that way … Regardless, thank you for coming out tonight.”
As the security separated the fighters, Paul climbed to the top of the ring and did a victory salute.
In the co-main event, the second influencer bout, Tommy Fury got a slim victory over YouTuber KSI on points.
One judge scored it 57-57 and the other two scored 57-56 in Fury’s favor, according to Reuters.
KSI alias Olatunji has called for a rematch, arguing that he was robbed in the bout.
Fury on the other hand was happy with his win.
“I fought my absolute heart out,” he told DAZN afterward. “I said from day one, there’ll never be another Tyson Fury, I’m just trying to be the best Tommy Fury I can be.”
