Australia wrapped the tour to India on a high as they came out victorious over Rohit Sharma and Co. by 21 runs in the final ODI to hold the three-match series 2-1.
Australia, who won the toss and opted to bat, posted 269 runs in 49 overs. Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav led India’s attack and scalped three wickets each. India in response started with a strong start as Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill added 65 runs for the opening wicket.
Virat Kohli scored a half-century, while Hardik Pandya played a fighting run a ball 40. However, wickets at regular intervals kept Australia in the contest. Adam Zampa scalped four wickets in his quota, while Ashton Agar scalped two, both coming in his final over.
Australia is now the top-ranked ODI side in the world, ending India’s seven series unbeaten run stretching back to 2019.
