Raiders Josh Jacobs Runs Through Seahawks Defence To 40-34 Win

raiders josh jacobs runs through seahawks defence 40 34 win

The Raiders running back, Josh Jacobs, virtually ran through the Seahawk’s defense like a major highway, cutting through them to create another record in history.

Jacobs ran for 229 yards, leading the Raiders to thrash the Seahawks by 40-34 in a stunning Sunday afternoon defeat, and capped it with an 86-yard walk-off run in overtime.

Seahawk’s failure to stop such a run was nothing new this season. A line of fault thought to have been fixed.

However, the Raiders were good and quick to revive the old lines earlier created by the 49ers and Buccaneers in previous games.

After the game, Seahawks’ coach, Pete Carroll, also admitted the fault was nothing new, referring it to an “old style ball’.

He however added that the Raiders using Jacobs was able to thwart their defense because they used a different approach.

“There’s nothing new about that at all. It’s just that it’s different and we didn’t adjust to it in either of the last two (games). … We have to play better than we’re doing against the two-back stuff. It couldn’t be more obvious. It’s as obvious as it gets. (It’s) something we’ll take care of.”

Speaking on his historic performance against the Seahawks, the Raiders runner back, Josh Jacobs admitted that he didn’t know he would play in the game after suffering a calf injury in their game against the Denver Broncos, where they also came victorious.

“Coming in, not knowing if I was going to play, looking guys in the eyes and telling them they’re going to get everything they got out of me. They didn’t want me to finish the game, but I convinced them I could go. The biggest play of the game happened after that.”
