A Texas woman was shot dead while on a call with a 911 officer saying that her marriage was over, authorities reported.
According to the local police, she just had a heated argent with her ex-husband and was reporting to the authorities before she was shot. After shooting her, the ex-husband shot himself.
The tragic incident took place outside an apartment complex in the Dallas suburb of Lewisville at around 5:30 a.m. Thursday.
Authorities say the former couple, neither of whom were identified as of Friday, were in a loud dispute in the parking lot of the complex when multiple gunshots could be heard.
“The female told dispatchers her marriage to the male had recently ended. A short time later, while the female was on the phone with 911, multiple gunshots could be heard, and the call went silent.”
The Texas officers immediately arrived on the scene and found the woman with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest, while her ex-husband’s body lying nearby what a gunshot wound to the head. She was not yet pronounced dead.
The woman was later pronounced dead in the hospital. The husband was also pronounced dead a few hours later.
This was not the first time the police had received calls from their home, as the woman had called before to report that her ex-husband had slashed her tires.
There has also been multiple reports of domestic violence, although the women had not been physically hurt at that time.
The neighbours had also called the authorities to caution the couple and called again after they heard multiple gun shots that led to the deaths of the woman and her ex.
