SNL’s Ego Nwodim & Brendon Gleeson Mocks The Try Guys Scandal & Biden

In its second episode of the season, Saturday Night Live (SNL) addressed the Try Guys controversy and cracked several jokes about President Joe Biden.

Ego Nwodim, who portrayed a CNN anchor, and actor Brendon Gleeson, who served as SNL’s guest host, parodied the Try Guys in a scene when Nwodim’s character was supposed to be reporting from the White House about President Joe Biden’s support for Ukraine.

Ned Fulmer was fired from The Try Guys, a well-known YouTube channel with roughly 8 million subscribers, late last month after the star acknowledged to having an adulterous relationship.

As a homage to the real-life rebuttal video they shot at the height of the scandal criticizing Fulmer’s conduct, he then moved away to SNL cast members Bowen Yang, Mikey Day, and Andrew Dismukes sitting on a sofa as the Try Guys.

Confused as to what the scandal actually was, Nwodim’s character asked: “I’m trying to understand why this story is such a scandal. Was this affair not consensual?”

Day, as Kornfeld, then replied: “No, worse. He committed the heinous act of having a consensual kiss and not telling us, his friends.”

After the sketch aired, Habersberger appeared to comment on the segment on Twitter where he posted: “Wow, that was unexpected.”

SNL Criticises Biden
During its frigid opening segment featuring the fictitious game show So You Think You Won’t Snap?, SNL also made fun of President Biden.

As the emcee of the game show, Yang shared headlines with the competitors until they all lost it and sobbed.

Yang read the news about how Biden thought Russia posed a nuclear threat as she dealt with Heidi Gardner’s persona as the first contender.

Yang then emphasized Biden’s age and posted a video clip of Biden discussing his mental capabilities in a recent 60 Minutes interview.

When journalist Scott Pelley questioned Biden on his ability to concentrate, Biden replied: “It’s focused, I see. It seems to be… Look, I haven’t.”
