New York FC played their final home game against Orlando City SC and they won in Red Bull Arena which wasn’t technically their home.

If New York City wins their game against Orlando, they would leap into third place ahead of Red Bulls in the Eastern Conference and they would also secure a home match game in the playoffs.

Based on results from Saturday, they confirmed their seventh consecutive year in the playoffs. Plus, the team wanted revenge after Orlando beat them in Florida this season.

At full-time, New York City FC came from behind to beat their arch-rivals, as goals from Alexander Callens and Talles Magno secured all three points.

Moreover, they will play at least one playoff game at home and sit in third place going into the last fixture of the season.

In the first half, there were too many giveaways by NYCFC players, and things were a tad shaky. They had only two shots and none were on target.

In the second half, New York City FC had 11 shots, with five on target. Offensively, the team was much better, and the creative energy and opportunities increased significantly.

after getting the assist on Callens’ goal, Magno scored the winner in the 81st minute. A superb pass from Maxi Moralez to Gabriel Pereira started the motions. Then, Pereira had plenty of room to make a run toward the box, and his speed helped immensely too. Magno was in front of him, so he flicked the ball in the direction his fellow Brazilian was running to, putting NYCFC in front.

NYCFC officially has 52 points, which is exactly one more point than their 2021 MLS Cup Championship year.
