Alpharetta police report that one individual has died following a plane crash along the Big Creek Greenway in Alpharetta on Monday afternoon.
The exact number on board the aircraft was not immediately known, but the submitted flight plan indicated two passengers were intended to be on board, according to Sgt. David Freeman of the Alpharetta Police Department. He claims that only one body has been found.
This call reported a light plane crash about north of Kimball Bridge Road and arrived at 12:57 pm.
When SKYFOX 5 flew over the region, it noticed snapped trees and a field of debris in the woods.
According to the NTSB, the aircraft was a twin-propeller Beechcraft Baron. Online flight monitors indicate that the plane most likely originated in south Georgia.
North of Kimball Bridge Road and south of Old Milton Parkway, the Big Creek Greenway is shut off.
