On Wednesday head coach Zac Taylor reported that Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow had his appendix successfully removed on Tuesday.

Although the 25-year-old is anticipated to be released on Wednesday, it is still unclear when the Bengals may anticipate having their starting quarterback back in action. Taylor didn’t elaborate on whether he thought Burrow would be prepared for the preseason or not.

Taylor isn’t concerned about his quarterback catching up once he returns, even though Joe Burrow’s timeframe is still uncertain.

Burrow has already faced a few of setbacks in his brief NFL career. He missed the final six games of his first season because of ACL and MCL tears in his left knee.

He returned in 2021 and guided the Bengals to the Super Bowl, where they ultimately fell to the Rams 23–20. Even though he tore his MCL in his right knee during the Super Bowl, no surgery was necessary for the damage.

He completed a league-best 70.4 percent of his pass attempts for 4,611 yards, 34 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions in 16 games last season.
